Depending on whom you talk to, landscape maintenance can mean many different things. The property manager at a warehouse in an industrial park may only be concerned with mowing, whereas the facility manager at a downtown office building may just need plantings in a few seasonal containers out front. But when it comes to landscape maintenance for a neighborhood, homeowner’s associations and HOA board members have more to be concerned with than just mowing and seasonal flowers.
Over the coming months we’ll be exploring various landscaping topics as they relate to HOAs. Topics will include landscape planning for long-term success, landscaping and your HOA budget, developing specifications for your landscape bid and drafting landscape RFPs, understanding contracts, and avoiding homeowner assessments, all of which will lead to happy neighbors and community members.
Our hope is that you’ll learn a thing or two and emerge with a renewed sense of what the neighborhood landscaping means to your HOA community.
